Look at what I found. Interesting. I wonder how this came about, what with all of us acting like...what was the word you used, Moody?...childish gits.
Ah well, these things happen.
Dead bodies inhabit Gloucestershire County
Massacres all over Gloucestershire County—Death Eater activity presumed
25 October 1981
The bodies of twenty people, Muggle and wizard, were found early this morning in St. Mary Magdalene’s Church by the local authorities of Boddington, a parish near the town of Cheltenham in Gloucester. A spokeswizard from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement declared that the bodies were not yet identified though, after much hesitation, admitted that amongst the wizards and witches who lay dead, the majority were of Muggle descent. Muggle residents that escaped and somehow survived this massacre have been tended to by the Obliviator division of the Department of Magical Catastrophes, however, not before they bewilderedly agreed that there were many marks, “like fireworks, except with some sort of wonky skull,” one Muggle was overheard saying. A wizarding resident of the small town, Dawn Finchley, told the reporters that, “There is no doubt in my mind that this was the work of those wretched Death Eaters.”
For the unfortunate residents of Gloucestershire County, this was not an isolated incident. Sometime before in the night, similar marks were noted in the sky over Knightsbridge, a small hamlet also neighbouring Cheltenham, before citizens and Muggles journeying along the motorway nearby, were found dead in their homes, or gathered in the Knightsbridge business park. The MLE has already dispatched investigators to further investigate, as well as Obliviators from the MC to obliviate—no comment has been made by the MLE spokewizards on this attack as of yet.
MLE officials have been unable to hide their bafflement at the suddenness of the attacks all over the County. Similar conditions have been found in small villages such as Southam, Withybridge, Elmstone-Hardwicke, and Brockhampton. The only connection between all these towns, besides their location in the same county, is their obvious closeness to the city of Cheltenham. Rumors circulating declare that if these are indeed actions of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his Death Eaters, the proximity of the popular town can only indicate the clear position of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his followers.
Joanne Bradley, an eyewitness at Boddington said to the reporters, "It was terrifying. There was so much screaming, and so much blood. I never saw so much blood in my life…they were all just laying there, covered with blood, beaten and dead. I first thought it was one of those ridiculous Muggle cults, but when the Dark Marks went up in the air, I knew the Death Eaters had a hand in it." When asked about coincidental propinquity to Cheltenham, Bradley answered, angrily, “I’m tired of this war. I’m tired of all the killing. If they think the Death Eaters and You-Know-Who are in Cheltenham, then I say get the whole Ministry over there and get them. I want a world safer for my children. I want someone out there to do something.”
